Why The TLiG Messages

We have the Teachings of the Church, the Traditions of the Church, the Sacraments of the Church, the Scriptures and the writings of the Saints. After all this wealth and treasure that God, in His Mercy, has given us, why has He again come today in our own life-time, with the True Life in God messages?

1. READ THE SCRIPTURES
God has not come with anything new in the TLiG messages. The TLiG messages are purely a reminder of the Scriptures. God has come to remind us that we need to read the Scriptures and live them!

2. SCRIPTURES

The True Life in God messages lead us to the Scriptures. Those who have never owned a Bible, after starting to read the messages, the first thing they do is to go and purchase a Bible, which becomes inseparable from them and their daily companion.
The messages help us understand the Scriptures better.

3. GOD - A LOVING FATHER
Which loving father will allow his children to fall into danger? Which loving father will fold his arms and not run after his children to save them? God will never leave us as orphans, but instead, will put down His Crown of Gold, get off His Throne and run after us. Today He runs after us with the True Life in God messages.

4. INTIMACY WITH CHRIST
Intimacy with Christ is one of the greatest gifts God can give us. Through the True Life in God messages, God is teaching us how to be intimate with Him. The
True Life in God messages teach us that God is not a mindless force, but a Father full of Love, Who feels every fibre of our heart.

5. THE HOLY TRINITY

The True Life in God messages teach us a Trinitarian God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

6. SACRAMENTS OF THE CHURCH
The
True Life in God messages bring us back to the Sacraments of the Church. Those who have not been baptised, after reading the messages, feel the need to get baptised. The messages lead us to a deeper repentance and sincere confession, and help us understand the meaning and mystery of the Holy Eucharist better.

7. OUR BLESSED MOTHER

In the messages, our Lord teaches us to love and honour our Holy Mother, who is the most powerful intercessor before the Throne of God, and encourages us to approach her as our own mother, asking her for her intercessory prayers. She is the Mother of God and Mother of all humanity.

8. LOVE
Our Lord teaches us that the messages are not only to be read, but be put into practice in our daily lives by living the Commandments, especially the two Commandments on love: love of God and love of neighbour.

9. SELF-EXAMINATION
St. Paul outlines the 9 fruits of the Holy Spirit in his letter to the Galatians: 5:22.
The
True Life in God messages teach us to examine ourselves to which degree we have been filled with these 9 fruits: love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control, as well as with the 4 virtues mentioned in the Book of Wisdom 8:7 - temperance, prudence, fortitude and justice.

10. HOLINESS
In the
True Life in God messages, our Lord teaches us to live holy, and explains what it means to live holy lives.

11. THE CHURCH
The
True Life in God messages teach us to love the Church, stay attached to it like an oyster stays attached to a rock amidst turbulent waves, and pray for our priests and bishops.

12. GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
The
True Life in God messages teach us to continually pray to God for the 7 gifts of the Holy Spirit (Is. 11:2-3), on which subject Christ speaks and explains in detail in the messages.

13. CHURCH UNITY

The main theme that runs through the messages is the Unity of the Churches: the Roman Catholic, the Orthodox and the Protestant Churches. This Unity, being in full communion with each other and celebrating the Eucharist together "on One Altar", as our Lord expresses it, is not only a desire from our Lord, but rather a command. So many are the passages that Our Lord has dictated to Vassula Ryden on Church Unity, that they have again been compiled into a separate edition titled "Unity, Virtue of Love". See John 17:20-26.

I am sure that those who read the
True Life in God messages, would be able to add many more reasons why God has come today, in our life-time, with this wealth and treasure which He Himself has named "True Life in God".

True Life in God (TLiG) Prayer Group
Gold Coast, Australia

The True Life in God prayer group on the Gold Coast, Australia, comes to
gether 3 times every month at the home of Avo & Suzy. One of the meetings is specially for young adults. The prayer meetings follow the guidelines as set forth in a special booklet that contains many prayers. The main prayer is the Holy Rosary, that is preceded and followed by prayers from the True Life in God messages and other well known prayers.

True Life in God is the title given by our Lord Himself to the messages He has been dictating to a Greek Orthodox mystic by the name of Vassula Rydén since 1985. The messages are a wealth of spirituality, that when read with an open heart and mind, will bring the reader closer to God. The messages make the reader grow in intimacy with God over the years and a gradual thirst and longing for God develops within the person's heart and mind. The reader starts to love God more and more each day. However, loving God also means to love our neighbour in the manner God loves us, and as we love God and ourselves. The love of God and of neighbour therefore go hand in hand.
On the table of our altar there are 2 statues: the statue of our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, and the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Both statues have glitter and oil on them. There is also glitter on the table of the altar itself, and on all the objects that are on the table. The colour of the glitter on the statue of our Lady is predominantly BLUE, and that on the statue of our Lord RED and GOLDEN.
The large picture of the Face of Jesus on the wall has oil and gold glitter coming out of the Mouth. The small statue of the Child Jesus also has glitter, mostly BLUE.

Yes, the True Life in God messages are about love, peace, repentance, reconciliation, mercy, forgiveness... but there is one more issue that our Lord Jesus Christ has come to remind us of... and that is the Unity of the Church, His Church, the Unity between the Roman Catholic Church, the Orthodox Churches, and the so many Protestant Churches. Jesus wants His Church united, and united in such a way, that His Whole Church comes to celebrate the Eucharist together. He does not want the Churches to differentiate themselves under His Holy Name. He wants everyone to believe in His True Presence in the Bread and the Wine, His Body and His Blood. He wants One Church, and in order to achieve this, our Lord does not give us any magic formulas, just two simple attributes or virtues if you like: LOVE and HUMILITY.

About Me

My photo
Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia
My wife and I are readers of the True Life in God messages since end 1992, which have brought us back to the Church, the Sacraments of the Church, and everything what the Church is all about. Both of us have been baptised in the Armenian Orthodox Apostolic Church, to "which" we remain committed. In addition to many things that our Lord Jesus Christ has taught us through the Scriptures and the True Life in God messages, one other thing I would mention is His Gift to us of allowing us to approach Him intimately. It is this INTIMACY which we see as the greatest gift we have received from God, which has led us to love Him more each day, and hand-in-hand with that, to try to love our neighbour as God loves us and we love ourselves. Another great gift, we feel, we have received from Christ, is the gift to be "one" with our Christian brothers and sisters from the other Churches: not to differentiate ourselves under the Holy Name of Jesus Christ, to feel "one in heart" with them, because after all, we do worship the same Christ +++
